Your National Body
As a member of the LGSA of WA, you automatically become a member of the National Works Officers Association (NWOA), which was formed on 15 September 1999.
The NWOA comprises the following organisations:
- Local Government Supervisors Association of WA Inc. Western Australia
- Municipal Works Officers Association Inc, Victoria.
- Tasmanian Association of Municipal Supervisors Inc. Tasmania
- Works Officers Association of Queensland Inc. Queensland
- Local Government Supervisors Association of NSW (Sydney Metro and Outer Western Divisions)
The Objectives of the National Works Officers Association are to:
- Promote the general advancement of professional skills and education within Local Government nationally;
- Define, establish and maintain the professional competencies and standards necessary in Local Government as a whole;
- Promote the opportunity for fellowship on a national basis amongst the membership;
- Provide a range of information services to all State members, including a national newsletter;
- Promote the International Study Tour to be undertaken annually by a financial member;
- Ensure national alignment of qualifications through TAFE colleges: and
- Develop a national syllabus, data base and website.
